Secure Communication using Mutual Authentication in Light IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) technology has greatly helped in healthcare sector in recent years. The various biological data such as blood pressure, electrocardiograms (ECGs), blood sugar, body temperature, etc are collected and sent by various sensor devices. These devices have Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities for hospital and home patient monitoring. Among these devices with numerous uses in healthcare are wearables. These gadgets generate data all the time, which they forward to remote servers and adjacent gateways for processing and analysis. Due to vulnerability to various hostile threats, these devices' transmitted data must have their integrity and privacy safeguarded. A lightweight secure connectivity solution called Light IoT is recommended for data sharing amongst devices in the healthcare sector. The three stages of Light IoT operation are initialization, pairing, and authentication. By creating secure sessions between the connecting entities, these steps guarantee the data transmission's dependability. Through an effective communication radio using MAC 802.11g, optimization and faster transmission data rates to the device power consumption can be achieved. Optimizing the battery life of nodes can be accomplished by lowering the energy requirements of wireless transmission.
