Maximum Gain Estimates for Corporate-Fed Arrays

For any corporate-fed array, the total transmission loss increases with the array size, so there is a maximum array gain for a fixed element gain. This paper derives accurate estimates for the maximum gain of a corporate-fed planar rectangular antenna array in terms of the performance of the feed network components and the array element. The theoretical results are validated using simulation.
