Whip Antenna Miniaturization at VHF Band Using Magneto-Dielectric Materials

This article presents a strategy of miniaturization for electrically small wire antennas using Magneto Dielectric Material. The loading strategy is studied in order to strengthen the interaction of antenna's magnetic and electric fields with the properties of the material. Typically, with this particular technique, the electrical size of a Whip antenna are significantly reduced (factor 5.6) in the VHF frequency band to reach a ${{\bm{\lambda }}}_0/22$ height.
