Face Recognition Using ESP32-Cam for Real-Time Tracking and Monitoring

As we stand at the dawn of the twenty-first century, we bear witness to an era enriched with an array of remarkable and life-enhancing technologies. Among these marvelous technologies, face recognition technology is one of the most convincing and promising ones. This paper introduces an approach for real-time tracking and monitoring by recognizing the faces of individuals and collecting the data with the corresponding time on a spreadsheet. In this proposal, image capturing was carried out by ESP32-Cam development board created by Espressif System. The system was tested under various environmental conditions like different lighting arrangements, distance between person and camera, moving subjects, and also on variety of people with eyeglasses on, having beards, pose variations, etc. The system's accuracy, feasibility, and every other factor were discussed along with its probable shortcomings. Remarkably, our model has demonstrated an impressive accuracy rate, attaining a remarkable peak of 98.86%.
