Sustainable Energy Innovations: Evaluating Hybrid Power Systems for Bangladesh's Rural Sustainability

Isolated areas of Bangladesh, like the island of Char Montaj in the Bay of Bengal, are geographically isolated and have limited access to contemporary conveniences and main grid power. These areas suffer from economic impracticality and environmental degradation due to their reliance on diesel generators. In the face of declining conventional energy, places like Char Mantaj struggle with power. In this digital age, embrace endless renewable energy sources to brighten every nook and cranny. The study focuses on creating hybrid renewable energy systems that are optimum for particular places in order to address this. Through the integration of batteries, converters, wind turbines, and solar panels, the research evaluates several configurations with the HOMER software. The hybrid system that was found to be the most practical option in Char Montaj has an NPC (Net Present Cost) of $5678 and a COE (Cost of Energy) of $0.107. This technology sets the stage for sustainability by drastically lowering its carbon footprint in addition to meeting daily load demands. The findings highlight how Char Montaj could act as a prototype for various isolated islands and distant communities searching for low-cost, environmentally friendly energy sources.
