Technology for Developing a Unified Security Policy in Heterogeneous Big Data Systems

Heterogeneous big data systems are characterized by a variety of information processing tools in the same ecosystem. These tools have different security and access control models. An important task to ensure the security and consistent operation of big data systems is to develop a unified security policy over all these tools. Such a policy should be consistent with the top-level security policy of the organization and adequately mapped to specific data processing tools with their features. The paper presents a technique for developing such a policy. The theoretical basis is a new data model. It allows to provide unification of objects and operations of data storages of different types in terms of security policy. The authors propose an original technique of unified policy development for application in heterogeneous big data systems. The methodology takes into account possible limitations of each information processing tool.
