Reconnaissance on Dark Web Trades and Traders Activities for Investigation

This work aims to address the complex challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in dark web investigation. The objective of this research is to identify the tactical approach to analyse the posting patterns on both dark web marketplaces and accessible web platforms to narrow down potential suspects. This study explores the intricacies of onion routing (Tor) technology and the anonymity layers over the dark web and anonymity reversing methods by identifying writing styles, studying social network structures, examining content, tracking web engagement metrics, analysing multimedia content, and evaluating emotional tone in writing. Using these techniques, patterns in criminal behaviour can be detected by gathering information from various web sources, including the dark web. The research findings on leveraging advanced data science techniques is helpful to investigate and unveil the nefarious anonymous activity.
