Intelligent Manufacturing of Piezoelectric Structures Actuators with Optimal Placement

The performance of the flexible-construction active vibration control system is not only related with the control law, but also depends on the type and position of actuator sensor. In this paper, the effects of piezoelectric actuator length and collocation point on system characteristics are analyzed and by using independent modal control method, the mathematical model of piezoelectric intelligent actuator to optimize configuration has been investigated. Moreover, based on system controllability and observability index, the product of diagonal elements of transient excitation response and steady-state response controllable measurement matrix is proposed as the optimization index of actuator configuration criterion. The study result on the influence of the length and configuration points of the piezoelectric actuator on the system characteristics shows that either the change of the length or the layout position of the piezoelectric ceramic will cause the frequency offset and the magnitude change of the system. It is essential to come up with a good mark which can make all the impact factors taken into account.
