Efficacy of an Augmented Reality Application for Enhanced Learning of 3D Geometric Shapes

The visualization of mathematical shapes of geometry is essential to grasp the root of the relevant concepts. Without completely visualizing the shape one cannot relate hence retain the concepts related to the shapes such as area, perimeter or volume for a longer time span. This research article explores the design, development, and evaluation of an Augmented Reality (AR) application aimed at enhancing the learning experience of 3D geometric shapes. The integration of AR technology into educational settings has the potential to revolutionize traditional teaching methods by providing immersive and interactive learning experiences. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of an AR application in facilitating the understanding and retention of 3D geometric shapes among learners. The application incorporates interactive features, allowing users to manipulate and explore geometric shapes in real-time. A user-centered design approach was adopted in the development process, taking into consideration the cognitive aspects of learning and user experience. The findings of this study aim to contribute valuable insights to the fields of educational technology and cognitive science, providing evidence on the efficacy of AR applications for learning complex spatial concepts. The research outcomes may inform educators, instructional designers, and developers in optimizing AR-based learning tools for geometry education.
