Stability and Control of RT-VCM Employed for Moving Mirror Control in FTIR Spectroscopy Using FOPID Controller

The paper outlines a strategy for handling speed irregularities within control systems for moving mirrors. This is achieved by employing an upgradation to existing controller with Fractional order PID controller. FOPID Controller is proposed to replace existing controller for stability and control of RT VCM employed in Moving Mirror Control of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer used in Biomedical fields. The paper begins by establishing a mathematical model of a rotary-type voice coil motor (RT VCM). This model describes the behavior of the motor that controls the movement of the mirror. An analysis is conducted to examine the connection relating the rotational speed of the RT VCM to the velocity at which the optical path scans. To handle model uncertainty and external disturbances in the system, the paper proposes a FOPID controller to control and stabilize the system. Firstly, PID controller is designed for controlling and stabilizing the system but it is found that it takes longer time to stabilize thus using the gains of PID controller FOPID controller's is designed with two tuning parameters lambda and mu to achieve enhanced control performance The paper concludes with simulation results. These results demonstrate that the FOPID Control Technology provide better control to the system than existing controller.
