Integrating DT with emerging technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks, hybrid Cloud/Edge computing, and others gives rise to new use cases, accelerating digital transformation across sectors, including energy. These technologies address prevalent issues in the energy sector, with DTs, especially when assisted by 5G, enabling precise simulation and control. In the smart grid, DTs model resource usage, tracks energy trends, and enhances cybersecurity.
