An Investigation into Aesthetic Assessment and Implementation Approaches for Graphic Design

This study assessed visual clutter by computing feature congestion to provide guidance for layout design of novel tobacco product packaging. Color schemes for short phrases were searched using genetic algorithms to provide guidance for appearance color selection of novel tobacco products. The research demonstrated that introducing aesthetic evaluation criteria in intelligent generation for graphic design can produce design solutions more aligned with aesthetics. Finally, a general framework was proposed for intelligent visual design generation based on computational aesthetics, providing guidance for other categories of graphic design including novel tobacco products. This study laid a theoretical foundation for the research and development of intelligent generation systems for graphic design based on computational aesthetics.
