Research on Terahertz Spectrum Characteristics of Insulation Materials

Optical parameters such as refractive index, absorption coefficient, and dielectric constant are important physical quantities used to describe the macroscopic properties of materials, and are also the basis for conducting material physicochemical analysis and other work. With the help of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy, various physical parameters of materials can be easily extracted. This article utilizes a terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system to directly and conveniently extract the refractive index, absorption parameters, and extinction coefficient of materials. The terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system not only accurately expresses various physical quantities of cable insulation materials, but also detects internal defects, which plays an important role.
