Calculation and Analysis of Electromagnetic Radiation in UHV High-capacity Flexible DC Converter Valve

The calculation of the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) for the converter valve (CV) is essential for the analysis of the electromagnetic compatibility between the component equipment within the converter system. Firstly, the procedure for calculating the EMR of the CV is proposed. Then, based on the valve tower capacitance model, the source of nuisance in the normal operating condition of the CV is obtained. Subsequently, a model for calculating the EMR of the CV is proposed based on the method of moments. Finally, the fading characteristics, frequency characteristics, and directional characteristics of EMR from high-voltage and low-voltage valves are analyzed, laying a theoretical foundation for the EMC assessment of the converter station.
