DOA Estimation Performed by 2D Non-Uniform Radar Array

In order to solve the problem of radar placement due to terrain in radio astronomy, this paper proposes to use 2D non-uniform radar array for DOA estimation. To verify the feasibility of 2D non-uniform radar array for DOA estimation, the paper using MVDR and MUSIC algorithm for simulation the true location of PKS 1934–638 (a galaxy with a Seyfert 2 nucleus) in MATLAB separately. The result supports the feasibility of using

non-uniform radar array to estimate DOA and proved that MUSIC algorithm has better resolution than MVDR in this array.
