A New Energy Storage Collaborative Control Strategy and its Economic Estimation

In the process of building a new type power system, renewable energy has maintained a rapid development trend. However, renewable energy outputs are random and volatile, which will bring more challenges to the security and stability of the existing power system. As a high-quality flexible resource, energy storage can effectively and quickly respond to peak regulation and frequency regulation application scenarios, realize the decoupling of power generation and consumption in the power system, and improve the friendliness and consumption level of new energy grid connection. In order to efficiently utilize energy storage equipment and improve the economy of energy storage projects, this paper proposes a new energy storage collaborative control strategy based on the daily net load. In the proposed strategy, energy storage is used to participate in peak regulation to adjust load fluctuations when the renewable energy generation exceeds the load demand, and energy storage is used to participate in frequency regulation during the period that the load demand exceeds the renewable energy generation, which can take full advantage to the flexibility of energy storage. This paper uses actual data from a certain place to calculate and analyzes the proposed strategy, and compares it with the economic calculation results when only peak regulation or frequency regulation are involved, which proving the effectiveness and economy of the strategy.
