Design of Highly Reliable Battery Array Topology for Large-scale Energy Storage Systems

In recent years, the rapid advancement of the low-carbon economy has led to a growing use of battery arrays, such as energy storage power stations and electric vehicles. As a result, ensuring the safety of battery use has become essential. This paper proposes a highly reliable batteries topology based on a bidirectional DC-DC converter. The bidirectional DC-DC converter is employed to realize voltage compensation and active equalization among multiple series battery cells. Its operational principle is based on a single-phase shift control strategy. Soft switching technology is applied in this DC-DC converter. Furthermore, the correctness of the analysis is then validated using the Saber simulation platform.
