A Coordinated Regulation Control for Primary Frequency of Wind Power and Advanced Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage

Under the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control of wind turbines, the generator output power is difficult to respond to the frequency fluctuations of the power grid, and there is no standby active power to support the frequency control of the power grid. Advanced Adiabatic Compressed Air Energy Storage (AACAES) has the advantages of large capacity, zero carbon emission and long life, so the dynamic simulation model of all working conditions of wind power and AACAES system is established. A cooperative control strategy of the wind turbine based on variable power point tracking and AACAES system participate in the system primary frequency regulation is proposed, which provides a new application idea for AACAES system in the power supply side with relatively weak grid support strength. Compared with the direct configuration of energy storage to participate in bilateral regulation control, the energy storage capacity is reduced and the frequency regulation ability of the system is improved. Finally, simulations and experiments show that the primary frequency regulation capability of the proposed control strategy is significantly improved compared with the primary frequency modulation control under different working conditions, which lays a theoretical foundation for the establishment of grid-friendly AACAES power station.
