User-Centric Sensor Array for Real-Time Air Pollutant Surveillance

This paper focuses on the designing of a user-centric pollution sensor array utilizing an STM32 microcontroller (MCU) to deal with the pressing matter of air pollution. Against the backdrop of India ranking as the 8th most polluted country globally and Delhi being the 4th most polluted city, our solution integrates analog sensors for monitoring temperature and key air pollutants such as dust, carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), methane (CH4), ozone (O3), and hydrogen (H2). The STM32 MCU, processes analog sensor outputs, and transmits real-time environmental data to an external I2C host MCU of the user's choice. This implementation contributes to the broader field of sensor networks, offering a practical solution for monitoring air quality and temperature, in environments prone to elevated pollution levels.
