Simulation Analysis of Arc Motion of High Voltage DC Relay

The study of arc motion characteristics is an important content of HVDC relay to improve its life. The method of research uses computational fluid dynamics software fluent to write user-defined functions UDF and user-defined scalar UDS through C language and custom macro instructions to realize the secondary development function of software. The conclusion shows that: The greater the intensity of the magnetic field, the faster the gas flow rate between the electrodes, and the faster the arc motion. This will help reduce the arc time.
