(1-x)BaTiO3 - xLi0.1Ni0.2Mn0.6Fe2.1O4 Based Multiferroics: Structure and Dielectric Response

The conventional solid-state reaction route was used to synthesize a multiferroic system with composition: (1-x)BaTiO
3
[BTO] - xLi
0.1
Ni
0.2
Mn
0.6
Fe
2.1
O
4
[LNMFO]. The samples were sintered within a temperature range of 1000 - 1400°C to optimize the process temperature. From X-ray diffraction analysis, the BTO and LNMFO phases exhibited tetragonal per-ovskite and cubic spinal structures, respectively. A conspicuous variation in microstructural morphology with system composition was observed from micrographic analysis. The sample dielectric responses were measured utilizing the a.c. impedance spectro-scopic technique. Although a large dielectric spectral dispersion was observed in the case of pure BTO(x=0), the composite (x=0.5) exhibited an impressive dielectric stability region with high permittivity and a very low dielectric loss. The findings could help improve the performance of magneto-dielectric composite-based systems
