Development Game-Based Learning (GBL) for Kindergatern Level B

Kindergarten is an important institution in maximizing the golden age of early childhood. Kindergarten needs to pay attention to learning methods for early childhood because it affects the effectiveness and quality of children’s learning, especially at a Level B (Children with age 5-6 years old). If the learning method is not attractive and boring for children, then learning does not go well. This study aim is to create learning media. Learning media that is fun and fits the needs of children is Game-Based Learning (GBL). This study used the ADDIE model as an instructional design and application development for GBL kindergarten level B. The results showed that GBL kindergarten level B could be used well by kindergarten level B children and correspond with kindergarten level B curriculum competencies. In addition, the usability testing evaluation found that GBL kindergarten level B is very effective, efficient, and satisfying for kindergarten level B students. In the aspect of effectiveness, a success rate score of 93% is obtained, which is included in the very effective criteria. In the aspect of efficiency, the overall relative efficiency score of 87% is included in the very efficient criteria. In the aspect of satisfaction, there is a satisfaction score of 93% The conclusion of this study the GBL kindergarten level B application can be used as an alternative learning media at school or independent learning media at home.
