Machine and Deep Learning applications in Industry 4.0

New technologies are being developed because of the need to automate work. One such technology is artificial intelligence (AI), designed to enable machines to understand, learn, think, and act like humans. Machine learning (ML), Deep learning (DL), and various subdomains are some of the multidisciplinary fields of artificial intelligence. The aim of this work is to create state-of-the-art for the contribution of ML and DL in Industry 4.0 and come up with a visual result that could facilitate the task for future researchers with a simple visual conclusion giving an overall view about all algorithms used and their results. Based on the prior art review of current research articles, highlighting the critical role of AI in Industry 4.0, we conclude that predictive maintenance is one of the pillars of Industry 4.0 where AI is frequently applied.
