Sensorless Vector Control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Using High-Frequency Injection

The vector control system of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), with its capability for high precision, dynamic performance, and broad speed regulation range, is extensively employed in various domains of motor drive applications. These include electric vehicle traction, propulsion systems of substantial military hardware such as naval vessels, aerospace technologies, and submarines, owing to its exemplary characteristics. Compared to the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of sensors, the sensorless approach offers benefits such as reduced industrial costs, compactness, and heightened stability. This research delves into the sensorless vector control based on the high-frequency voltage injection method, and a simulation model was developed on the Simulink platform. The model underwent both steady-state and dynamic performance tests, producing simulation waveforms under conditions like noload operation, loaded operation, sudden speed changes, and abrupt load application and removal. The simulation results indicate that this method can effectively detect the rotor's position and speed, demonstrating good stability both statically and dynamically.
