LFM Pulse Compared with Constant Frequency Pulse as the Excitation Signal in the Detection of Ultrasonic Distance in Water

The linear frequency modulated pulse is used as the excitation source of ultrasonic non-destructive testing of sonar scanning equipment. Compared with the traditional constant frequency pulse excitation source, the detection echo of LFM pulse has more accurate detection distance accuracy and good anti-noise performance. In the experimental test, it is confirmed that the average relative error of the detection range accuracy of LFM is greatly reduced compared with the constant frequency pulse excitation source of three frequency bands under the LFM pulse bandwidth. The distance detection was carried out in different turbid water environments, which verified the robustness of the LFM pulse as an excitation source for ultrasonic detection, with good noise resistance and detection distance accuracy. The detection accuracy and efficiency of LFM pulse as excitation source have certain applicability in pipeline sonar detection, pool sonar detection, seabed sonar detection and other applications.
