Automatic Geo-Locaton Accuracy Computation Software For EOS-06: OCM3 Data Products

OCM-3 (aboard EOS-06) is a continuity sensor for OCM-1 and 2; an ocean and earth observation mission launched on 27 Nov 2022 with improved remote sensing capabilities in the field of oceanography. Local (LAC, spatial resolution of 360m) and global (GAC, spatial resolution of 1080m) area coverage products are being generated with various levels of processing (0/1/2). The geometric accuracy of standard corrected OCM3 LAC level-1C products is around 500m. These data products need to be validated for their geometric and radiometric performance prior to making them available to the user. Location accuracy computation is one of the prime parameters in the validation phase. A software package is designed and developed to compute the location accuracy of OCM-3 standard data products in an automated mode. This core functionality of estimating misregistration is based on the phase correlation method and deployed at AQC (Automatic Quality Check) work centre. Spatial accuracies reported by this software are in good agreement with manual verification. This software is tested with different configurations on various temporal datasets covering all terrains.
