Seasonal Trend Analysis of Aerosol over the Anand Region with In-Situ Measurement

Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) is a dynamic atmospheric parameter that holds significant importance in air quality monitoring. Gaining insights into the regional aerosol trends across various seasons unveils crucial information about their characteristics, trends, and concentrations. The sun photometer, a portable instrument known for its high precision, plays a pivotal role in providing accurate AOT measurements. Our current study has extensively utilized the sun photometer’s data on AOT for winter and summer season of 2023. This comprehensive analysis has been encompassed on daily, monthly, and seasonal variations in aerosol levels over Anand region. We analyzed a consistent linear relationship between Water Vapor (WV) and AOT throughout the season. While AOT values exhibited an upward trend with higher temperatures, an interesting declining trend was observed during the summer months. To facilitate accurate comparisons, we employed the Ångström exponent to interpolate the wavelength at 550 nm, aligning our measurements with MODIS data.
