Numerical Simulation of Surface Albedo and Temperature Over New Delhi Using Nested WRF Model

The present study depicts the behavior of simulated temperature using Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. This model is driven by physical parameterization schemes which are selected in the present work based upon the previous studies. The simulation of temperature and surface albedo is done over the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. The simulation results for temperature are validated using observed data from the observations of Indian Metrological Department (IMD). The results of simulated albedo are also viewed in the context of temperature. The simulated temperature variation in the domain ranges from 296 K – 302 K (23°C - 29°C). The difference between the observed temperature and the simulated temperature is 2-4°C. The results are depicting the high temperature ranges with the physical parameterization schemes over the NCT of the Delhi region. It is found that temperature and albedo are well simulated by the WRF model with the slight overestimation.
