Transient Features Analysis of Cross-Line Same-Phase Successive Ground Faults in Distribution Network

Currently, detection methods for single-phase grounding (SPG) faults in low-current grounding systems has reached a high level of refinement. However, there is a significant lack of research on successive grounding (SG) faults, particularly in the area of detecting cross-line same-phase successive grounding (CSSG) faults in arc suppression coil grounding systems. This paper analyzes transient features of SG faults comprehensively. Firstly, a transient equivalent circuit is established. Secondly, transient features including direction, amplitude and frequency of zero-sequence current (ZSC) are theoretically analyzed. Finally, the ZSCs under different fault conditions are simulated. The results of PSCAD simulation affirm the accuracy of the analysis.
