Digital-Analog Hybrid Simulation of Megawatt Generators for Nuclear Power Based on RTDS

Nuclear power is being used increasingly in modern society because of its advantages, such as cleanliness and stability. The safety of nuclear power has to be guaranteed. Therefore, it is essential to establish an accurate nuclear power generator model to simulate its operation. The traditional generator modeling methods are based on pure digital simulation analysis. It is difficult for pure digital analysis methods to reflect the physical characteristics of equipment across various time scales. So, this paper established a digital-analog hybrid simulation system based on real-time digital simulation system RTDS by incorporating the real excitation cubicle. This paper analyzed the theoretical framework of the digital-analog hybrid simulation system. Afterwards, a real simulation platform based on the actual hardware equipment is constructed. Besides, this paper carried out two sets of step tests with this system. By comparing the waveforms with that of the pure digital model and the test result, this paper verified the correctness of the digital-analog hybrid simulation system.
