A Comparative Cost and No-Load Losses Study of H0 and M4 Core Materials

This study investigates the cost and the economic aspects of utilizing two distinct grades of cold rolled grain-oriented (CRGO) electrical steel, namely H0 and M4, in the manufacturing of the core of the transformers. The study delves into core comprehensive costs, considering factors such as material cost, and other costs. Through a comparative analysis, this study aims to provide insights into the cost-effectiveness of H0 and M4 CRGO materials, considering their no-load losses. The findings of this study aim to assist decision-makers in the electrical industry in making informed choices regarding material selection based on economic considerations and no-load losses, thereby optimizing the overall cost efficiency of transformer production. Furthermore, the finite element method is employed to validate the results of no-load losses, adding robust dimensions to the study.
