Force-Thermoelectric Effects of Suspended State Al/PTFE/Ep Active Material Projectile Coated With Thin Nylon Shell High-Speed Impact Aluminum Plate

Reactive damage element, also known as reactive material damage element, will cause a strong deflagration reaction and release a large amount of energy generated by impact load. Aluminum powder and polytetrafluoroethylene (Al/PTFE) powder mixed with cold-pressing sintering preparation has a kind of low susceptibility, high release energy, high stability, and high strength of the solid-state reactive materials, but the traditional formulation of the Al/PTFE reactive materials has been restricted the application of the material. However, the epoxy resin (Ep), which lacks the participation of a curing agent in the normal state, exists in the liquid state for long-term storage, and also has the basic characteristics of high energy release during high-speed impact, and the suspension prepared by mixing Al/PTFE/Ep has the potential application prospect in the space attack and defense. In this article, epoxy resin is added into Al/PTFE active materials, and a new type of suspended state Al/PTFE/Ep (Al: PTFE: EP = 25.44%: 31.58%: 42.98%) active material (wrapped in a thin nylon shell) is prepared, and the thermo-chemical energy-releasing characteristics of the suspended state Al/PTFE/Ep are analyzed, and a two-stage light-gas gun loading system is utilized and combing with the relevant thermal, optical, and plasma characterization parameters. The light flash radiation temperature, plasma characterization parameter diagnosis, and quasi-closed container experiments of suspended state Al/PTFE/Ep wrapped with thin nylon shells have been conducted under vacuum conditions by using a two-stage light-gas gun loading system combined with related thermal, optical, and plasma diagnostic systems. The experimental results show that the light flash radiant temperature of suspended state Al/PTFE/Ep impacting on aluminum plate is 6200 K, the electron temperature of plasma and electron density are 3.74 eV and
$3.29\times 10^{15}\,\,\text{m}^{3}$
, respectively, and the reaction energy release is 12.76 kJ/g, and the research results will provide technical support for the application of space attack and defense.
