Developing a Biomedical Circular Patch Antenna with a Low Sar Content

This paper presents a novel implanted microstrip patch antenna and explores its potential applications in the field of medicine. It fulfills the necessary criteria in order to alleviate the pressing demand for a reduced Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The antenna achieves the necessary frequency coverage by functioning in the Circular Patch configuration, featuring a star-shaped aperture, within the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz bands. A variety of deformation pressures are withstood by this antenna due to its flexible, dielectrically-differentiated polyamide substrate. Models that closely resembled the human body were executed in order to validate their suitability for wearable applications. Operating within the specified frequency ranges, the antenna exhibits a maximal gain of 4.9 dBi at higher frequencies and a fractional bandwidth of 41% at lower frequencies.
