Optimal Design of Titanium Based Tool in Manufacturing Process for Predicting Surface Roughness and Residual Stress

The aim of this study is to design and optimize a titanium-based tool for conversion work using a powder metallurgy system. The cutting tool is made of Fe-1%C-2%Ti-3%WC and tested by turning it into Al 5052 alloy. The surface properties of the tool are measured by X-ray diffraction as a primary outcome, and the residual stress is measured by X-ray diffraction. The experiments are based on a Taguchi-based system with an L9 system design, and Hendry gas solubility optimization is used to predict the results. Research findings show that titanium-based cutting tools can be optimized for surface smoothing and reducing residual stresses, resulting in improved mechanical performance and longer tool life This research helps to understand what from titanium occurs under the cutting tool design and cutting in manufacturing Provides a valuable means of improving tool efficiency
