Blockchain in Medical Healthcare: A Review of Issues and Challenges

Nowadays, healthcare is a hot topic, and researchers are working hard to accumulate patient data. To receive their regular treatment, patients engage with many practitioners. Every time the patient is examined, a different doctor does so, but he or she does not maintain track of the patient’s current health because the patient cannot explain their prior experiences, and the practitioner is also unaware of their history of previous diagnoses [1]. Here, a decentralized process is required, and patient histories of their illnesses can be simply extracted from data archives. The application of blockchain technology in healthcare can realize this strategy. This study will concentrate on many problems, difficulties, and shortcomings that provide obstacles in the field of healthcare. Additionally, it suggests research on currently used algorithms and research techniques that have been occasionally used [4].
