Proof of concept of 100 Gigabit/s per carrier optical transmission from the Moon with a turbulent channel replicator and adaptive optics

We show error free 100 Gbps transmission from the Moon is achievable by using digital coherent technologies. We leverage a novel 2-dimensional replicator of atmosphere turbulence and a state-of-the-art adaptive optics, and jointly optimize the signal format and coding under different turbulence conditions.
