Sun Gear Fault Diagnosis of Helicopter Main Gearbox Based on Condition Indicators

In order to improve the safety of the helicopter, selected appropriate condition indictors were used to diagnose sun gear faults of helicopter main gearbox, and the method was verified on the transmission system fault seeded test bench. The results show that values of condition indicators and health threshold calculated by the collected vibration data can be clearly distinguished, and crack faults and denudation faults of sun gear can be effectively diagnosed. It is concluded that the use of condition indicators to diagnose sun gear faults is effective.
