Spare Parts Varieties Optimization for Hydraulic System Using Data Envelopment Analysis Method

Hydraulic system is a complex system with electromechanical-hydraulic coupling, so the relationship between components and the system should be considered when determining the variety of spare parts. In view of the problems that the complexity of the designed functional structure and the harm degree of failure mode can't be given directly, we obtain the severity, criticality and other important parameters related to the system of all the least replaceable units through the results of Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA). An index system focusing on FMECA results is proposed in terms of product life-cycle process. Then, the method of FMECA for hydraulic system is briefly introduced. A spares optimization model for hydraulic system is proposed based on data envelopment analysis with the constraints of 12 factors of the index system. A case study is given to illustrate the proposed method. The theoretical base was provided by model to decide spare parts varieties for hydraulic system effectively.
