Implementation of Online Quiz-Based Active Learning Approach in Process Heat Transfer

The online quiz is adopted for the Process Heat Transfer, Chemical Engineering second year unit with the aim that the students can monitor their learning actively. Ten online quizzes are created on the learning management system Moodle. The online quiz is released weekly and it is optional for the students to attempt at their own. A survey is distributed to the students at the end of the semester to collect their satisfaction on this online quiz. The survey results indicate that the students found the online quiz helpful as an extra resource for their learning. The online quiz aids them to study independently. Besides, most of the student concur that the online quiz is effective for them to achieve the unit learning outcome. In overall, the students are satisfied with the introduction of the online quiz in the unit.
