The Study on Static Attribute of Tilting Pad Thrust Bearing with Thermal Elasto Hydrodynamic Lubrication Under Steady Load

The model of thermal-elasto hydrodynamic lubrication is established in this paper. It applies Newton-Raphson and dichotomous method to iteratively solve the equations under steady load conditions to research the influence of thermal deformation on the static attribute of tilting pad thrust bearing. The consequences demonstrate that the thermal deformation boosted the dynamic pressure effect of the oil film. The maximum pressure will be magnified. Besides, the rotational speed is also a significant factor on the film thickness and temperature, which can weaken the impact of dynamic pressure. Therefore, in order to design and optimize thrust bearing, it is crucial to contemplate the material resistance to high temperature.
