Graphene Nanoribbon-Based Zigzag Simulated Output of a Gas Sensor

This study aims to replicate the output properties of gas sensor transistors utilizing graphene nanoribbons through simulation. Among the three gases, ZZGNR exhibited the maximum ∆Q (-0.104 e), the lowest D (2.88 Å), and the highest adsorption energy (-0.273 eV) for nitric oxide. Additionally, DOS measurements revealed a significant increase in density at the Fermi level, indicating improvements in ZZGNR conductivity induced by gas adsorption. To enhance ZZGNR’s adsorption capability, the surface was modified with an epoxy group (-O-), a hydroxyl group (-OH), and both (-O-) and (-OH) groups. Consequently, this work aims to explore the relationship between ON and OFF current and channel length.
