Investigation of Biodiversity and Human Interaction Based on Information Approach

The examination and evaluation of coastal ecological characteristics are of utmost importance in comprehending the ecosystem that exists inside a coastal environment. A diverse range of wetland biological characteristics, including tidal flats, salt marshes, marshes, mudflats, dune sands, beaches, spits, and sand bars, as well as backwaters such as estuaries and lagoons, serve as crucial habitats for a wide array of plant and animal species. The emergence of remote sensing satellite technology has had a significant influence on the investigation of natural resources, particularly within the realm of coastal ecosystems. The current research effectively utilizes remote sensing satellite data, which offers a comprehensive picture, to gain insights into the distribution and characteristics of ecologically important wetland features in the vicinity of PulicatLagoon and KalveliLake along the Tamil Nadu coastline in India. The analysis of the geographical size and distribution of different ecological wetland characteristics in both research locations is conducted by using temporal satellite data from two time periods. These data are then compared to assess any temporal changes using spatial Geographic Information System (GIS) methods.
