A Novel Triple U-Slot Microstrip Patch Antenna Design for Multiband Applications

A novel triple U-slot Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA) design is presented with the objective of establishing multiband capability in both the C and X radiation bands. The antenna that has been presented has improved performance characteristics, which makes it appropriate for a broad variety of applications in the fields of communication and radar communication. The design makes use of the strategic integration of three U-shaped slots on a tiny microstrip patch, taking use of the resonance effects of these slots in order to generate separate frequency bands. Through the use of sophisticated electromagnetic modeling tools, the geometry and size of the antenna are adjusted in order to achieve the resonance frequencies and bandwidths that are needed. One of the factors that adds to the antenna's capacity to cover several frequency bands in an effective manner is the triple U-slot arrangement. This paper presents novel triple U-slot microstrip patch antenna design and achieved an improvement in impedance matching, radiation characteristics, and overall antenna performance as a consequence of the unique combination of the microstrip patch and the U-shaped slots.
