Broadband Dual-polarized Magnetoelectric Dipole Antenna for 5G Microcell Base Station

We introduce a broadband dual-polarized (DP) antenna designed for 5G microcell base stations wireless communications in the paper. The magnetoelectric (ME) dipole cooperates with orthogonal Г-shaped feeding lines to attain the dual-polarized characteristic. The optimized antenna impedance bandwidth is about 69 % (3.2 ~ 6.6 GHz), with the port isolation exceeding 25 dB, the peak gain is 10.3 dBi, and the radiation pattern is symmetrical. Notable advantages include wide bandwidth, simple and compact structure, low profile, and miniaturization, which make it a candidate for 5G microcell base stations antenna.
