PLC & SCADA For Efficient Load Management And Fault Monitoring

This paper presents a real-time prototype design and implementation of an automatic control system for the supply of electrical loads. The system utilizes a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) in conjunction with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to ensure continuous power supply by dynamically switching between different sources based on priority. The prioritization scheme involves cutting off the least priority load in the absence of any one of the three power sources. The programming is accomplished through ladder logic, a graphical representation commonly used in PLCs. The communication between the PLC and SCADA is established to provide a centralized interface for fault monitoring and control. The proposed system has been physically implemented, demonstrating its effectiveness in industrial applications where uninterrupted power supply is crucial. The presented work contributes to the advancement of automation and control systems, offering a practical solution for managing and optimizing electrical loads in real-time scenarios.
