Distribution Network Reconstruction Using an Improved Dung Beetle Algorithm

In response to the issues of active power loss and node voltage deviation in the actual network reconfiguration process of new energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics, a distribution network optimization and reconfiguration model based on the Levy Flight Enhanced Dung Beetle Optimization (LDBO) algorithm is proposed. By leveraging the characteristics of Levy flights, the algorithm enables the random exploration and leaping of beetle individuals in the search space, effectively avoiding individuals from being trapped in local optimal solutions and enhancing the algorithm’s global search capability. The study conducted simulation analysis on the model, and the results demonstrate that the LDBO algorithm has achieved favorable switching combination schemes in the distribution network optimization model, thus improving the operational quality and reliability of the distribution network.
