Simulation analysis of laminated magnetoelectric structure magnetic field sensor

In this work, we propose a micro-laminated structure magnetic field sensor that combines magnetostrictive and piezoelectric effects. The sensor operates based on the principle that the applied magnetic field induces deformation in the magnetostrictive material, causing a corresponding deformation in the cantilever beam. Additionally, the piezoelectric films in the laminated structure generate an electric potential in response to the external magnetic field via the piezoelectric effect. By measuring this potential, the ambient magnetic field can be determined. The validity of our theoretical calculations is confirmed through finite element simulation analysis, which demonstrates a linear correlation between the potential generated by the piezoelectric film and the magnetic field strength. The sensor exhibits exceptional output voltage and sensitivity, making it well-suited for online monitoring in power systems. Moreover, it holds great promise for various applications in intelligent power systems.
