Optimal scheduling of park-level integrated energy system in the context of carbon trading

In the context of “dual carbon” goals, park-level integrated energy system (PIES) has become an important way for efficient utilization of renewable energy resources. To meet the diverse energy demands while considering both economic and low-carbon aspects of PIES operation, this study proposes a low-carbon economic dispatch model for PIES that incorporates scenario analysis method. Firstly, a PIES operational characteristics model is established by integrating power-to-gas (P2G) and carbon capture and storage (CCS), along with the introduction of a stepwise carbon trading mechanism. Secondly, an optimization strategy based on scenario analysis method is proposed to achieve low-carbon economic operation of PIES, taking into account penalties for wind and solar curtailment. Lastly, by using YALMIP to build mathematical models of PIES, and GUROBI to solve the optimization function in MATLAB. The simulation results show that the proposed scheduling approach demonstrates an improvement in the integration of renewable energy sources, while ensuring low-carbon economic operation and energy utilization in PIES
