Enhancing Mobile Game Performance with Hybrid Optimization Techniques

This research article addresses optimizing performance in 3D interactive applications, such as games, simulations, and augmented reality experiences, specifically on mobile devices. The study aims to overcome challenges related to suboptimal performance caused by code inefficiencies and memory mismanagement. To achieve this, we propose a novel approach that combines Shadow Masking (SM) and Level of Detail (LOD) techniques in a synergistic manner, aiming to enhance performance while maintaining visual quality. We carefully analyze factors such as visual realism and computational overhead using tools like Unity3D and Blender, which provide physics simulations, audio integration, and photorealistic rendering capabilities. This analysis helps us determine the most effective SM and LOD strategies for specific game environments. Additionally, we develop a methodology using the Unity game engine and 3D models designed in Blender, resulting in a mobile 3D game environment optimized for smooth performance. This research introduces a novel approach to automatically recognize and remove shadows using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This aspect is particularly significant in mobile game development, where limited processing power, memory, and battery life pose unique challenges. Our insights aim to assist game developers in enhancing the player experience, even on mobile devices with lower specifications, by optimizing game environments while maintaining visual quality and performance.
