Finding Coexisting and Multi-Cavity Chaotic Attractors in Memristor-Based Hénon Map

Although memristors are widely utilized in continuous chaotic systems, research into discrete memristive systems has been relatively limited. This paper introduces a novel three-dimensional discrete chaotic map by incorporating a sinusoidal memristor model into the classical Hénon map. In contrast to prior memristor-based Hénon maps, the proposed system not only generates hidden coexisting attractors but also exhibits an infinite number of multi-cavity chaotic attractors, which is seldom seen among existing systems. Numerical simulations, including Lyapunov exponents(LEs), bifurcation diagrams, and phase diagrams, are provided to investigate parameter-dependent dynamics. Both initial-boosted coexisting attractors and the multi-cavity chaotic attractors can be found by setting appropriate parameters. This research contributes to a better understanding of chaotic phenomena and promotes the development of discrete memristive chaotic systems.
